2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
It is early November—spring in New Zealand. As I go for a walk with my dog each morning, before the day’s work, I can see green plants sprouting up from the soil and new blossoms appearing on the trees. Spring is here; winter has almost gone. New life is becoming visible as green plants rise from seeds that have lain dormant through the cold winter months. To me it seemed as if the seeds were dead, but now it is abundantly clear that the promise of life was there.
I’ve been thinking about times when my life lay dormant through periods of coldness brought about by the many mistakes I have made. I may have appeared to others as someone spiritually dead for all I know. But God, the author of new life, knew the promise of life was still there for me and I am really alive.
New beginnings come into our lives when we let God's light shine in. God brings us back to life with the power of reconciliation. God forgives our transgressions and allows us to rise above the cold world of sin.
Jesus testimony – His life, death and resurrection—is a picture of life as we know it. It is the same as the world we observe every day) and ignore?)
Praise God for new life! Our dead lives can come to life and be significant. Amen?
Prayer
Loving God, we thank you for the promise of new life with you. We thank you for providing us with new beginnings in our lives so that we can rise above the life of sin. Amen.

God actually offers each of us opportunities for new life.
